More about Hope Cottage

If you want to enjoy complete escapism, then this beautifully spacious and utterly romantic hideaway for two, is idyllically situated down a private lane, overlooking Redwell marshes and the NWT nature reserve, in the pretty coastal village of Holme-next-the-Sea.

Perfect for lovebirds, walker’s and birdwatcher’s alike, and those who are seeking an incredibly quiet location in walking distance of the beach, this very large detached property is a wonderful getaway whatever the time of the year.

Reputed to be the oldest property located on the historic Peddar's Way, Hope Cottage is a Norfolk 'single-dweller' cottage dating back to 1680. It is undoubtedly one of the most perfect of our hideaway cottages for those looking to escape from the outside world, yet is in easy walking distance of the village pub. From the cottage there is direct access to the Peddar’s Way and North Norfolk Coastal Path. The NTW (Norfolk Wildlife Trust) Holme Dunes and its deserted sandy beach are both right on your doorstep, so if you love getting back to nature, you will simply adore this place

Sensitively restored, Hope Cottage won a Mayor's Special Award back in 2005 and now with three large living rooms and large viewing platform to appreciate the views of the marshes and pretty garden, this luxury property also boasts a Visit England 4 Star Gold Award.

The wildlife spotting opportunities are endless. Keep your eyes peeled for dragonflies, barn owls, kestrels, marsh harriers, grazing pink-footed geese and snow buntings in the winter. The south-west facing garden is perfect to enjoy a glass of wine or alfresco dining whilst you watch the sun go down. The garden even boasts a traditional outside WC 'The Retreat', although of course you do have one inside too! There is direct access from the garden to the Peddar’s Way and coastal path.

Daydream your day away, curled up in the garden room with the bi-fold doors which open to the garden or bring your bikes and explore the quiet local lanes, or head over to the famous Links Golf Course at Old Hunstanton where you have wonderful views of the coast as you play. If you fancy a day on the beach then why not hire the beach hut at Old Hunstanton which is available as an extra-cost option.

Additional Information
Tassimo coffee pods, logs and charcoal are not provided.
The owners of the property also own a beach hut on Old Hunstanton beach which is about a 20-minute walk from Hope Cottage which is available as an extra-cost option when booking.
Dogs are welcome at Hope Cottage at a cost of £50 per dog but are restricted to the downstairs of the property and should not be left unattended.
A highchair, travel cot and wheelchair is available on request for a small hire charge of £10 per item.
If you do need to keep in touch there is WiFi and a Vodaphone signal booster too to improve mobile phone reception.

Beach Hut
The owners of Hope Cottage also have a beach hut on Old Hunstanton beach called Soggy Dollar, which can be booked from Saturday for six days for £225 in conjunction with this property. Please enquire for availability.
