New for 2022 This delightful 1920s two bedroom cottage looks directly over the New Forest and the ever changing panoramic view from its windows are truly stunning. Guests will enjoy watching the New Forest ponies, donkeys, cows and occasional deer roaming opposite, yet the cottage is only a short walk into the heart of the pretty village of Brockenhurst, where you can find plenty of local independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants catering for all needs. If you are a keen walker or cyclist, for you the property is ideally placed with direct forest access allowing for miles of walking and cycling routes on the trails. Bikes can be safely stored within the boot room of the cottage or hired from the village and there are two horse riding stables nearby. Highway Cottage is a comfortable base for up to four guests and is dog friendly. The entrance porch/boot room and hallway and offer plenty of storage, with stairs leading to the first floor accommodation. Two good sized bedrooms and a family bathroom occupy the rear, whilst the real show-stopper is at the front, with panoramic views over this beautiful corner of the New Forest from the open-plan living area and kitchen. A private courtyard garden is tucked at the back of the cottage, and to the side offers far-reaching views over the Forest. Further afield, Lord Montagues fascinating Motor museum and Bucklers Hard old shipbuilders; village are in Beaulieu, just a short drive away. The interesting and local villages of Lyndhurst and Burley are also close by. The London Waterloo to Weymouth railway line stops at Brockenhursts quaint old railway station, and travels through the forest stopping by Bournemouths sandy beaches. Drive or take the 15 minute train ride to the old smugglers market town of Lymington, where the very busy market is held every Saturday morning, or simply sit with an ice cream and watch the boats go by. If you fancy a more relaxed experience, both Careys Manor or Balmer Lawn Hotel in Brockenhurst offer a pampering day in the spa.
